MRS. JONES DEAD.

She Was the Widow of the Late State Senator Reuben Jones.

Mr. J.H. Williams yesterday received a telegram announcing the death of Mrs. Jones, widow of the late lamented State Senator Reuben Jones of Baker county, who dropped dead in Atlanta some time ago. Mrs. Jones died at Melissa, Texas, where she was visiting her sister.

The announcement of Mrs. Jones’ death will carry sorrow to the hearts of her many relatives and friends throughout the state, as she was one of Georgia’s most beloved women. Her influence for good was far-reaching and her lovable Christian will long be remembered by the thousands who knew her.

Mrs. Jones had a number of relatives in Macon, among them Mrs. J.H. Williams, who is her daughter, and three sisters, Mrs. W.R. Phillips, Mrs. W.E. Flanders and Mrs. C.P Callaway.

This dispatch did not give any of the particulars of Mrs. Jones’ death, but stated that the remains would be sent to Atlanta for interment.

TO ATTEND MRS. JONES FUNERAL.- Mr. and Mrs. J.H. Williams of Macon, and Mr. W.M. Newsome of Dougherty county, left yesterday afternoon for Atlanta, to attend the funeral of Mrs. Jones, widow of the late Reuben Jones of Baker county, which is to take place in Atlanta today. Mrs. Jones’ remains arrived in Atlanta from Texas last night. Mrs. Jones was the step mother of Mrs. Williams, and of Mrs. Newsome, of Dougherty county.
