Texas Items.
The Henderson Times of the 23d has an account of the killing of four men, near Mt. Enterprise, Rusk County, recently. First, Mat Shaddon was killed by John Elliott in a quarrel about an estate. They were brothers-in-law. This was on the 13th. Some days afterwards four brothers of Shaddon set out to hunt his murderer, and killed Haydon Phillips because he would not tell where Elliott was, Phillips protesting that he did not know. Immediately after Ben Phillips, a son of Haydon Phillips, was shot and killed. Asa Irwin, a son-in-law of Haydon Phillips, was also killed at the same time and place.
