Daniel Wilson Phillips, CW04 Retired. Full military rites will be conducted at the Main Chapel, Fort Sill, Lawton OK, Tuesday, 10:30 am, with burial on the Post. Phillips was born to Samuel and Christine Phillips Sept. 25, 1915 at Trousdale OK. He served in the South Pacific during World War II, postwar in Europe, Korea, and Vietnam. He participated in the liberation of the Philippines and in the Nuremberg Trials. At his retirement May 31, 1971, Phillips was the most decorated soldier in his unit with 20 medals and citations. Phillips is survived by his wife, Peggy, and son, Daniel of the home, Lawton OK; 2 daughters, Maria Phillips, Del City and Sandra Biermann, St. Louis MO; 2 brothers, Jack, El Reno, and Samuel, OKC; 9 sisters: Mildred Williams, Alex; Faye Richardson, Prague; Lucille Massey, Granite; Lillian Stinnett, Guthrie; Grace Malear, Ruth Power, Mary McCuddy, Patricia Wilmoth, all of OKC; Virginia Wasung, Albuquerque NM; 1 grandchild Rachael Biermann, St. Louis.
