Obituary.
Mrs. George Barrett (Daisy L. Phillips) died at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. J.W. Phillips, Sunday morning, June 9 at 11 o’clock. The funeral services were held Monday afternoon at the Baptist Church in Yukon and were conducted by Rev. Conkwright.
Deceased was born in Cooper county, Mo., April 5, 1877, and moved to the west with her parents in 1886. December 25, in her twentieth year, she was united in marriage to Henry Barrett. To this union one child, a bright boy, now almost four years old, was born, and is now deprived of a mother’s love and care.
In losing this loved one there is a vacancy in the home circle that can never be filled, as a model wife, mother, sister and daughter. But “blessed are they who die in the Lord.” She became a member of the First Baptist Church at Mineral Wells, Texas in September 1901 and lived a consistent christian life. Her only regret in leaving this world was that she could not live longer and do more for the Lord. And her last request was to tell her dear friends that ministered to her so faithfully during her illness and death that God’s choicest blessings be with them and their families.
The funeral services were attended by a large crowd who extend their sincere sympathy to the sorrowing relatives in their severe bereavement.
