KNOX S. PHILLIPS
1909 - 2005

Knox S. Phillips, 95, died Saturday, January 15, 2005 at Life Care Center, Mount Vernon. He was born in Sylacauga, Alabama to Ernest and Allie (Rosser) Phillips on November 4, 1909. The family moved to Sauk, Washington in 1917, then to Concrete in 1921.

Knox married Margaret I. Anderson on September 24, 1939 at the family home. Knox and Margaret celebrated 64 years of marriage. They were members of First United Methodist Church in Mount Vernon. He worked for Carlson Pontiac Cadillac as service manager. Also, he was a member of Golden Kiwanis and Gideons.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret, on March 31, 2002; and by his son, Richard "Dick" on May 1, 2002; also by his sister, Una and his parents.

Knox is survived by his daughter, Carol M. Moyer and husband, F.L. "Pete" of Omak, WA; daughter-in-law, Marcia Phillips; grandson Eric Phillips and wife, Dr. Beth Vorderstrasse; great-granddaughters, Annika Margaret Phillips and Katrina Corrine Phillips of Pullman, WA; grandson, Carl and wife, Tisha Phillips; great-grandson, Austin Phillips and granddaughter, Tayler Phillips of Chula Vista, CA; and numerous step-grandchildren.

He is also survived by a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Roy and Mary Anderson of Mount Vernon; niece Mari and husanbd, John Densmore of Mount Vernon; nephew, John Anderson; as well as other nieces and nephews and other relatives.

Memorial services will be held at the First United Methodist Church in Mount Vernon on January 23, at 3:00 PM. A private interment will be held at a later date.

Memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church, 1607 E. Division Street, Mount Vernon, WA 98273 or Gideons International, 500 S. 1st Street, Mount Vernon, WA 98273 or your favorite charity.

Arrangements are under the care of Kern Funeral Home, Mount Vernon.

Mamie, here's an obituary regarding a descendant of James Augustus Tippins Phillips, a brother of our Reuben and Barsheba Phillips, and son of Jonathan and Elizabeth Howell Phillips. I believe you may have posted this a couple of years ago.
