George Phillips, Alabama Native, Died in Tennessee
George Pinkney Phillips, 80, died at the home of his son, Alfred Phillips, Lawrenceburg, Tenn., at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday after a year’s illness.
He was a native of Alabama, and had lived in Tennessee during the last 32 years.
He was a member of the Church of Christ.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in the North Carolina Church of Christ in Lauderdale County, John Gibbs will officiate.
Burial will be in the church cemetery.
He is survived by four sons, Albert Phillips, St. Joseph, Tenn., and Alfred Phillips, W.O. Phillips, and Wheeler Phillips, all of Lawrenceburg; eleven grandchildren; and thirteen great-grandchildren.
The Beecham Funeral Home, Loretto, Tenn., is in charge of arrangements.
