Mrs. Victoria Phillips, A Native Sonoran, Died Here Wednesday
Returning to her home four months ago for medical treatment, Mrs. Victoria Phillips, 73, a native Sonoran, died in a local hospital early Wednesday morning following an illness of several years duration. Mrs. Phillips returned a number of weeks ago to make her home with her sister, Mrs. Carmen Heithier, in this city.
Funeral services were held from the Mason Mortuary on Valencia Street, San Francisco, Thursday afternoon under the direction of Mrs. Josie Terzich of Sonora. Interment was in the Presidio Cemetery in San Francisco.
Mrs. Phillips leaves, besides her sister, a brother, Sevis Cabezut, of San Francisco; three nieces, Mrs. Hilda Pitcher, Sonora; Mrs. Dolores Sullivan, Sonora; and Mrs. Leonard Stratton, San Francisco; and a nephew, Matt Heither, Sonora.
Her husband was the late Thomas Phillips, a veteran of the Spanish American War, who is buried in the Presidio Cemetery. Mrs. Phillips was a member of the auxiliary unit of the United Spanish War Veterans Post in San Francisco.
