Frank Phillips, Montreal Star Editor, Is Dead.
MONTREAL, Dec. 9. (C.P.)-Frank Phillips, news editor of the Montreal Star and one of the best known newspapermen in Eastern Canada, died here Thursday. He was at one time telegraph editor of the Toronto Globe and had also held an editorial position in Ottawa.
Mr. Phillips, a native of England, was for a time connected with newspapers in London.
While he was in Ottawa, the war broke out, and Mr. Phillips joined up immediately with an Ottawa unit with which he served overseas. When he returned to Canada, he lived for a short time in Vancouver, later rejoining the staff of the Toronto Globe.
