OBITUARY.
William Lewis Phillips was born at Chillicothe, O., April 2, 1853. He departed this life April 24, 1922, age 69 years 22 days, after a lingering illness of almost two years. He very patiently bore his suffering and had prepared himself to meet his Savior.

When a small boy, he moved with his parents to Decatur County, Illinois. He grew to manhood. From there he moved to Oxford, Kas. He was united in marriage March 20, 1879 with Miss Ida Wood of Oxford. They lived in Kansas until moving to Oklahoma August 17, 1898, where they have resided ever since. This kind and loving husband and father leaves to mourn his going his widow and five children: Mrs. Gracie Thomas of Canton, Kas.; Mrs. Pearl Kruse of Orlando, Okla.; Mrs. Bertha VanDine of Augusta, Kas.; Mrs. Nellie Page of Tulsa, Okla.; and George R. Phillips of Kremlin, Okla. Also nine grand children, five brothers, a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

Mr. Phillips was a farmer of that type of manhood, such as have made Oklahoma the great state it is. The funeral service was held at the farm home three miles southeast of Kremlin, April 26, Rev. M. Porter of Enid in charge. An evidence of the high regard in which Mr. Phillips was held was indicated by the large number of people attending the funeral service, although the weather was very disagreeable. The body was laid to rest in the Enid cemetery.
