ED. PHILLIPS DEAD.
Ed. L. Phillips of the Baker neighborhood, died on Thursday night of last week after a brief illness. He was a brother of Esq. L.B. Phillips and one of the best and most popular farmers in Bell’s mines. Take him all in all, there were few better men in this world than Ed. Phillips. Peace to his ashes.
From time immemorial there have been characters that were loved by all who came in contact with them. The same can be said of the deceased, Ed. Phillips, a man who never failed to win the confidence of all who saw him. He was an affectionate husband to his wife, a loving father to his children and a true friend to his neighbor. He was a hero among heroes, because he fought silently the battles of life bravely; a man among men for he lived a manly life. Let us weep not for him, but try to imitate his life and meet him where there is no parting.
