MORTUARY.
James R. Phillips
COLUMBIA, Tex., April 27. - Mr. James R. Phillips died of consumption at the residence of his sister, Mrs. Jennie Gale, last night a little after 12 o'clock. The deceased was yet a young man and his untimely death, while not unexpected, is a shock to his many friends.

DIED AT COLUMBIA.
COLUMBIA, Texas, April 27. - Mr. James Phillips died last night about midnight. The funeral services will be held at the Presbyterian church this afternoon at 3 o'clock. His death has been expected for several days and was no surprise to his many relatives and friends. Mr. Jno. G. Phillips, brother of the deceased, arrived yesterday.
Mr. Phillips was a member of the Methodist church at this place. The remains will be interred at the old Phillips graveyard on the Bernard River.
