Funeral services for C. S. Phillips, age 50, who died about noon Saturday at the Navarro Clinic, were held at 4 o'clock Sunday afternoon from the chapel of the Corley Funeral Home, Rev. J. I Cartlidge officiating.
Burial was in Oakwood cemetery. The Mexia Masons had charge of the services at the grave and were assisted by Corsicana Masons.
Mr. Phillips was telegraph operator at the union station here and had been an employee of the Southern Pacific railroad since 1915 and had been a resident of Corsicana since 1918.
Surviving are his wife, Corsicana; a daughter, Mrs. Kathyrn Ann Rogers, San Francisco; five brothers, N.W. Phillips, Ft. Sulphur, La., K.C. Phillips, Houston, H.T. and E. T. Phillips, Velasco, R.Q. Phillips, Freeport; a sister, Mrs. Mildred Autrey, Velasco; his mother, Mrs. Mollie Phillips, Velasco; and other relatives.
Pallbearers were Harry Auld, Dude Ransom, W.M. Peck, Jr., Earl Pressley, J.I. Tucker, and Jimmie Andrews.
