Homer Theodore Phillips, 90, of Blessing passed away Friday, April 13, 2001 at his residence following a long illness.
He was a long-time member and a deacon of the First Baptist Church of Blessing and worked as a contractor building homes in the Blessing area for many years.
He was born March 16, 1911 in Thornton, Texas.
He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Stella Rickaway Phillips of Blessing; sons and daughters-in-law David and Debbie Phillips and Gary and Debbie Phillips all of Blessing; sister, Mildred Autrey of Brazoria; grandchildren, Carrie, Barry and Molly as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
A service recognizing his years of service as a deacon and his lifelong dedication to Jesus Christ will be held Monday, April 16, 2001 at 10:30 a.m. at the First Baptist Church in Blessing with the Rev. Larry Swift officiating.
Interment will follow at Hawley Cemetery.
The family will meet friends at the Funeral Home on Sunday, April 15, 2001 from 6 until 8 p.m.
Services are under the direction of Bay City Funeral Home.
