MOUNT VERNON - Deryl Phillips, 85, died Friday, August 20, 2010, at his residence.
Funeral services are set for 2 p.m. Sunday, August 22, at the Sam B. Harvey Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Pete Adrian officiating. Interment will be at the Mount Vernon City Cemetery, under the direction of the Harvey Funeral Home.
Mr. Phillips was born March 6, 1925, in Sulphur Springs to John H. and Nancy R. Hettich Phillips.
Mr. Phillips is survived by his four children: Berlita Luman of Saltillo, Deryl Phillips Jr. of Spring, Prescilla Vensa of Beaumont, and Stephen Phillips of Mount Vernon; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents; wife Ima Jo Helm Phillips in May 2010, his brothers Eutuc and John Phillips, and sisters Delma and Dorothy Phillips.
Visitation will be Saturday at the funeral home from 6-8 p.m.
