ONE OF THE SIX HUNDRED.
Jackson, Mich., July 8.-Thomas Phillips, an Englishman, died at his home at Woodville, west of this city, at the age of 70 years. He was a member of the famous Light Brigade, whose charge at Balakiava, October 25, 1854, was the subject of Tennyson's well-known poem. Mr. Phillips came out of the battle with many bullet wounds and saber cuts, though none of them proved serious. His death leaves only three of the famous brigade living.
