Mother of Local Woman Buried At Spur Thursday

SPUR-Services for Mrs. Mattie Elizabeth Walker were held at 3 p.m. Thursday, June 18 at the Spur Church of Christ with Charles Adams, minister officiating, assisted by the Rev. Walters, pastor of Assembly of God Church of Spur.

Mrs. Walker was the mother of Mrs. Clyde Rogers of Aspermont.

Burial was in Spur Cemetery under the direction of Campbell Funeral Home.

Mrs. Walker died at 9 a.m. Wednesday at Spur Memorial Hospital. Born in Arkansas, she had been a resident of Dickens County since 1935.

Survivors include her husband, T.W.; a son, Billy Walker of Brownfield; three daughters, Mrs. Elmer Maben, Spur, Mrs. Clyde Rogers, Aspermont, and Mrs. Elmo Owens, Lubbock; a brother, Van Phillips, Abilene; two sisters, Mrs. L.J. Martin and Mrs. T. Buney, both of Corsicana; 24 grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Leroy Williams, Jerry Insey, Louis Arnold, Chester McAlpine, Lewis Williams and E.S. Lee.
