Raymond Howard McSpedden, Jr., age 60, was born November 30, 1933 in Franklin, Texas to the late Raymond Howard, Sr. and Iva Nina Phillips.

Mr. McSpedden died on November 24, 1994 at Methodist Central Hospital, Dallas.

He was a member of Kemp Church of Christ, retired from the Dallas Police Department in January, 1984, with 23 years of service. Since, he was a police officer and instructor at Cedar Valley Community College. He lived in Dallas prior to moving to Kemp five years ago.

Mr. McSpedden is an elected official on the Becker-Jiba water board, member of the Dallas Police Association, Director for Pony Baseball, and has received many accommendations including Police Officer of the Year 1993 from Cedar Valley College and also recipient for outstanding instructor for defensive driving.

He is survived by wife, Shirley McSpedden of Kemp; sons & their wives, Thomas Ray & Toni McSpedden of Kemp, Randy Howard & Christine McSpedden of Arlington; three grandchildren, Nakoda, Kayla and Jeffery Taylor McSpedden; brothers, Joe & wife, Laura McSpedden of Richmond, Virginia, and David & wife, Dixie McSpedden of Mexia; mother-in-law, Mrs. Francis Thomas Wendell of Duncanville; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.

Visitation will be from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Saturday, November 26, 1994 at Roselawn Funeral Home, Seagoville, Texas. Services will be 2:00 p.m. Sunday, November 27, 1994 at Kaufman Church of Christ. Graveside services will be at 9:00 a.m. Monday, November 28, 1994, Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Seagoville, TX.
