Audress LeCroy Phillips, 101, a longtime Skagit Valley resident, passed away on Saturday, January 29, 2005 at the Mira Vista Care Center in Mount Vernon.
She was born on September 30, 1903 in Tallassee, Alabama, the daughter of Walter & Martha Sayers LeCroy. She was raised and attended school in Alabama, coming to Washington in her early twenties.
In 1924 she was united in marriage to Cecil S. Phillips in Seattle, WA and they made their home in Concrete for over fifty years, moving to Sedro-Woolley in 1974. Cecil preceded her in death in 1982.
Audress had made her home in Sedro-Woolley and Burlington until moving to Mount Vernon in 1999.
She enjoyed writing, tatting, her church and her loving family.
She is survived by her five children: Martha Phillips of Seattle, WA., Mary Ash of Puyallup, WA., David Phillips and his wife, Anna Marie of Bellingham, WA., Nancy Bundy of Lafayette, LA. and Knox Phillips of Sedro-Woolley, WA.; numerous grandchildren, great and great-great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers and 2 sisters.
The family wishes to acknowledge and thank the staff at Mira Vista Care Center for their loving care for Audress.
The family suggests memorials be made to the Sedro-Woolley First Baptist Church, 511 State Street, Sedro-Woolley or a charity of your choice.
Memorial services will be held at the First Baptist Church in Sedro-Woolley on Wednesday, February 2, 2005 at 2:00 PM, Pastor Richard Coursen, officiating. Private interment will be at Green Hills Memorial Cemetery in Burlington.
