Obituary
Edgar W. Phillips, the subject of this sketch, was born in Crittenden county December 25th, 1866, and died October 1st, 1903. He leaves a wife and five children and several sisters and two brothers, besides a host of friends to mourn their loss.
Ed., as he was familiarly called, was a good husband, a kind and affectionate father, and a generous neighbor, always willing to lend a helping hand.
He professed religion about the year1889 and lived a true christian life until his death. While not a public man, yet by his amiable disposition he gained the love of those with whom he came into contact. He was ever ready to assist any one who might be in distress. He was never known to do anything willfully wrong; no beggar was ever known to leave his door empty handed; there were few, if any, like him. Yet while it grieves us to part with him, we resign ourselves to the will of the Lord, knowing that He doeth all things well.
-A BROTHER.
