Nellie Ruth Phillips, 86, of Mount Pleasant, died Wednesday, Oct. 3, 2001 at Titus Regional Medical Center.
Funeral services were at 10 a.m., Friday, Oct. 5 at Harris Chapel Baptist Church. Bro. Gaylon Riddle will officiate. Interment was in DeShields Cemetery under the direction of Bates-Cooper Funeral Home.
Pallbearers were Tony Anschutz, James Burgin, Weldon Dyke, Akin Fain, Ronnie Logan and Rusty Phillips.
Mrs. Phillips was born July 2, 1915 in Titus County. She was a homemaker and a member of Harris Chapel Baptist Church.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Larry and Jean Phillips of Mount Pleasant; grandsons, Gary Phillips and Stayce Phillips, both of Mount Pleasant; granddaughters, Marie Baldwin of Kilgore, Chrystal Falagaipupu and Penny Phillips, both of Mount Pleasant; 12 great-grandchildren; brother, Odis Blalock of Mount Pleasant; sister, Maurice Bell of Mount Pleasant.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ollie C. Blalock and Minnie Brown Blalock; husband Thomas Clifton Phillips; sons, Odell Phillips, James Phillips; sister, Mildred Black.
