Obituary.
Departed this life, on the 9th inst., in Jasper county, LEWIS PHILLIPS, Esq., in the 68th year of his age. He was a native of North Carolina,- and emigrated to said county about thirty-eight years ago. His death was occasioned by a cancer, which preyed on his system for many years, and which he bore with great fortitude. He expressed a hope before his death, of being prepared to meet the great event.
