Hoyt S. Phillips Died At Home In Cartersville
Funeral services for Hoyt S. Phillips, 57, of Cartersville, occurred at Bethel Baptist church last Thursday afternoon, with Rev. Joe Abstance, Rev. W. H. Adams and Rev. J. L. Drake officiating. Interment took place in the Robison Cemetery, with E. L. Almand Company in charge of funeral arrangements.
Mr. Phillips died at his home city of Cartersville on Wednesday following an illness of about four weeks. He spent a large portion of his adult life as a school teacher and was a member of the Baptist church.
Mr. Phillips was the husband of the former Miss Martha Robison, who survives him. Also surviving is one brother, I. J. Phillips of Atlanta, and five sisters, Miss Grace Phillips of Greenville, S. C., Mrs. R. P. Clinkscales of Iva, S. C., Mrs. Mason Smith of Lake Lure, N. C., Miss Margie Phillips and Miss Bonte Phillips, both of Atlanta.
Brothers and sisters of Mrs. Phillips include Henry Robison, M. T. Robison, Ben T. Robison, George Robison and Miss Annie Robison.
