William Phillips Suffers Fatal Stroke Nov. 30th

Funeral services for William T. Phillips were held Tuesday, Dec. 2 from the Mt. Vernon Christian Church with the Rev. Williams H. Gardner serving as the officiating minister. Burial was in the churchyard with the Williams and Smith Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Phillips died Nov. 30 following a stroke. He was 76, seven months and 4 days old. He was ill only a day prior to his death.

A native of Walton County, he was the son of the late Thomas Phillips and Sallie Ferrell. Mr. Phillips was a devout member of the Methodist Church and was highly regarded in his community.

Survivors include his wife; five children, who are: Mrs. J. Emory McElroy, Monroe; W. Rusk Phillips, Miami; Macon F. Phillips, Monroe; Howell A. Phillips, Tampa; George D. Phillips, Atlanta.

Surviving brothers are George Phillips, Alpharetta and Charlie Phillips, Griffin. Surviving sisters are Mrs. A. G. Garmon, Atlanda and Mrs. Oscar Garmon, Alpharetta.
