Funeral services for Sarah FreDona Phillips, 79, of Athens, formerly of Hopkins County, were held Monday in the Tapp Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Mark Wells officiating. Burial was in the Pleasant Grove North Cemetery.

Mrs. Phillips died Saturday in Athens.

She was born Aug. 30, 1906, in Grayson County, the daughter of James Reddick and Texana Nichols Reddick. She married Willie Bradford Phillips Feb. 17, 1929. He preceded her in death Oct. 19, 1969.

She was a retired resturant owner and a member of the First Baptist Church.

Survivors include two sons, Jerry Phillips of Athens and Joe Phillips of Lubbock; a daughter, Frances Forster of Carrizo Springs; 10 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a brother, John Garland Reddick.
