Arla E. Phillips, who died October 1, at his home near Wollington, was born August 3, 1886, in Apanoose county, Iowa. He came to Colorado at the age of 14 with his parents.

He left surviving, his wife, formerly Miss Bertha Beeman, and three children, Glenn Leslie, Arla Eldon, and Mabel Celesia, aged 13, 10 and 9 years respectively. He was a highly esteemed citizen.

The funeral services, held last Wednesday at Hollowell's mortuary, were conducted by Rev. Reeves of Greeley. The mother of the deceased, Mrs. T.A. Phillips of Anderson, Ind., was present at the funeral, as was also a sister, Mrs. Elsie Schneider of Gordon, Nebr. Others who came from away were Mr. and Mrs. T.C. Phillips of Greeley, Mr. and Mrs. George Beeman and Mrs. L.E. Musser of Brush and Asa Beeman of Gering, Nebr.
