Phillips, William O., son of Franklin and Fanny (Kingsley) Phillips, was born in French Creek, West Virginia, Oct. 2, 1845. He attended French Creek Academy; was graduated from Wooster College, Ohio, 1875; San Francisco Theological Seminary, 1878. He was ordained to the Presbyterian ministry, at French Creek, W. Va., 1878, and served in several churches of that denomination in West Virginia, Ohio and Georgia, 1878-1895. Congregational pastorates: Demorest, Ga., 1895-1907; Tavares, Fla., (six months of each year) 1908-1913. He was married, Dec. 25, 1878, at French Creek, W. Va., to May Phillips, who survives. Six children—three living. He died April 6, 1922, at Demorest, Ga., of Bright's disease.
