NELLIE MAE (NELL) PHILLIPS, 86, born June 2, 1914, passed away November 22, 2000.
She retired after 27 years as a teacher at Oak Forest Elementary School. She loved traveling, day lilies, and genealogy.
Mrs. Phillips was preceded in death by her husband, William A. Phillips, Jr.
She is survived by her daughters, La Nelle Skinner and husband, Pierce, of Houston, and Donna Jean Burrows and husband, Gary, of Houston. Brother, Howard Jenkins, of Tomball, TX and sister-in-law, Edrie M. Ploeger, Tomball, TX. Granddaughters, Dianne Stewart, of Dobbin, TX, Alison Glass and husband, Michael, of Montgomery, TX. Seven great grandchildren; Stacie Stewart, Lindsie Roach, Lauren Glass, Jessica Glass, Melody Glass, Joshua Glass, and Caleb Glass.
Visitation will be held at the Heights Funeral Home on Monday, November 27, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
A graveside service will follow at Forest Park Lawndale at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Bill Lipps officiating.
