RITES HELD FOR MRS. MARTIN'S MOTHER.

Funeral services were held at the Trewitt Funeral Home on Thursday, May 6, for Mrs. Lydia Hearn Phillips, 92, the mother of Mrs. Lula P. Martin, assistant library.

Mrs. Phillips died on Tuesday, May 4, after having been in ill health for over a year during which time she was confined to her bed for a greater part of the time. Mrs. Martin was the only survivng child; four grandchildren and two great grandchildren were living at the time of her death.

Rev. S.L. Culwell, pastor of the First Methodist church, officiated, and Dean J. Thomas Davis assisted.

Active pallbearers were Dr. Vern A. Scott, Gabe Lewis, Wm. Arch Jones, Autis McMahan, Judge A.P. Young, and J.O. Garrett. The boys that work in the library were among the honorary pallbearers.
