Capt. J.N. Phillips, 94, Veteran Grain Man, Dies.
Sedgwick, Kan., July 19.-Capt. J.N. Phillips, retired capitalist and former member of the Chicago Board of Trade, died at the home of a niece here last night at the age of 94. He is survived by his widow.
Captain Phillips was active in the Kansas grain trade, with headquarters chiefly at Newton, until his retirement eight years ago.
The Captain received his title when he operated a line of boats on the upper Mississippi more than a half century ago.
