Sat., 25 August 1917 - V.M. PHILLIPS, 24, died after being hit by a train today on Jackson St. between South 10th and South 11th. He lived at 714 South 4th St. and worked for the Geyser Ice Co. Funeral arrangements are pending. Survivors: wife; father, J.H. Phillips of Waco, sister, Mrs. A.H. Sheppard of Bakersfield, California, sister, Mrs. B. Banks of Kingsland, Texas, and brothers, J.L. Phillips and Charles Phillips of Waco.
