David Phillips of Griggsfield Fatally Stricken as Sheriff is Taking Him to Depot.

Pittsfield, Ill., Aug. 10.-The death of David Phillips of Griggsfield occurred on Friday afternoon in this city. He suffered a paralytic stroke, several weeks ago, and was taken to the county farm, but his condition grew worse and he was adjudged insane in the county court on Friday.

Sheriff Allen and Deputy Henry Baker were just starting to the depot to take him to the state hospital at Jacksonville when he was stricken again, and they brought him back to town, where his death occurred.
