SCROGGINS - George Ronald Temples, 71, of Scroggins, died Tuesday, March 18, 2008, in Tyler.
A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, March 21, at Shooks Chapel Cemetery in Sulphur Springs with Bro. Bob Griffin officiating. Interment is under the direction of Bates-Cooper-Sloan Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be Jimmy Winfrey, Frankie Winfrey, Ray Grimes, Paul Bailey, Harold Hangsworth, Tommy Hurley, and Donnie Sanders.
Mr. Temples was born on Oct. 19, 1936 in Sulphur Springs, the son of Howard Temples and Lillian (Brumley) Temples. He was a dairy farmer and a member of Liberty Hill Baptist Church in Mount Pleasant. He was awarded the American Farmers Degree and was owner of Martin Springs Plant Farm. He had a heart transplant 17 years ago.
He is survived by his wife, Maidell (Phillips) Temples of Scroggins; stepson, Phillip Neal Fitzgerald of Sulphur Springs; stepdaughters and spouses, Norma Dale and Jimmy Cameron of Mount Pleasant, Freda and Don Wells of Fort Worth, and Sherry Cronemeyer of Redwater; eight step-grandchildren; and a brother and sister-in-law, Mike and Judy Temples of Sulphur Springs.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
The family will receive friends from 12 p.m. to 1:45 p.m. Friday at Shooks Chapel Methodist Church in Sulphur Springs.
