Henry Lake Phillips
Henry Lake Phillips, senior member of the bottling firm of Phillips Brothers, Baltimore, and one of the leading citizens of East Baltimore, died December 16, at his home. He had been ill since April. Mr. Phillips was noted for his ever-cheerful disposition and his broadminded interests in the Maryland and American Bottlers’ Protective associations conventions of which latter body he attended faithfully until last year. He had a host of friends throughout the bottling industry.
Born in Dorchester County, Mr. Phillips came to Baltimore about thirty years ago, and about ten years later, with his brothers, organized the Phillips Brothers bottling establishment.
Besides his widow, Mrs. Mary Victoria Phillips, Mr. Phillips is survived by three brothers, Messrs. Levin W.; John D. and Howard S. Phillips, and three sisters, Mrs. Robert Applegarth, Mrs. Luther Tall and Mrs. Thomas Seal. The body was taken to Dorchester County, where the burial took place. The pallbearers were members of the Maryland Bottlers’ Protective Association.
