Services for Lorene Caldwell, 90, of Kilgore were held 2 p.m. Monday, May 23 in the Chapel of Rader Funeral Home of Kilgore with Reverend Riley Pippen officiating. Burial followed in the Kilgore Cemetery.

Mrs. Caldwell passed away Friday in Longview.

Lorene was born Aug. 27, 1920 in Trees, La., to the late States J. and Arnettie Rushing Phillips. She graduated from Kilgore High School in 1937 and was a member of the Highland Park Baptist Church in Kilgore. Lorene enjoyed crocheting, crossword puzzles and gardening.


She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph O. Caldwell Jr.; daughter, Kathy Caldwell; and two brothers, James Phillips and Lester Phillips.

She is survived by her sons, Tom Caldwell of Dallas and David Caldwell and wife Angie of Overton; one grandson; sisters, Pauline Leonhart of Houston and Peggy Wilson of Magnolia, Texas; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins and two caregivers.
