Funeral services for Leon Phillips, 55, of Rusk, were held Saturday afternoon at 2 p.m. at Oakland Baptist Church with Rev. Don Copeland officiating.

He died Wednesday, Dec. 9 at Rusk Nursing Home after a lengthy illness.

Survivors include his father, Jasper Phillips; four brothers, Jack Phillips of Kermit; Corry Phillips of Rusk; Clyde Phillips of Rusk; and T.J. Phillips of Lindale; one sister, Adelle Parker of Rusk; 12 nieces and nephews and 17 great nieces and nephews and also two great great nieces.

Serving as pallbearers were Ruben Phillips, John Phillips, Tom Phillips, Corry Ray Phillips, Richard Phillips and Joe Mack Lanier.
