Deanville Girl Asphyxiated In Fort Worth Home
Mrs. Angelina Lambrecht Phillips Died in Apartment House; Husband Survives
Details concerning the death by asphyxiation in a Fort Worth apartment house of Mrs. Angelina Katherine Phillips, 22 year-old-daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W.J. Lambrecht of Deanville, have been unobtainable and only bare facts in the case were available at press time, although the death occurred last Thursday, January 17.
W.H. Walker, landlord, found Mrs. Phillips dead and her husband, Joseph Phillips, 23, unconscious when he entered their apartment Thursday. According to a telegram received from Walter Humphrey, editor of the Ft. Worth PRESS, Wednesday afternoon, the inquest verdict on Mrs. Phillips was death by carbon monoxide gas. The couple had been married only a short time, the wedding having taken place in Ft. Worth December 30.
Contrary to rumors circulating here that both Mr. and Mrs. Phillips had succumbed to the gas fumes, the wire from Ft. Worth stated that Phillips is recovering rapidly in a Ft. Worth hospital and he has not yet been advised about the death of his wife.
Funeral service for Mrs. Phillips was held in Ft. Worth Monday and interment made there.
