AGE: 73 • Neshanic Station

J. Douglas Phillips, 73, passed away on Saturday, December 17, 2011 at Princeton Medical Center. Born in Prescott, AZ, Doug lived in Neshanic Station for 25 years. He studied, with intent, to become a Salesian priest at Don Bosco Seminary. Following in the footsteps of his big brother, he joined the navy and worked as a radioman 2nd class in the Pacific from 1957-61. He received a BS in Marketing from California Polytechnic University and an MBA from Golden Gate University. Mr. Phillips began his career with Standard Oil in CA. He joined Merck and Co. in West Point, PA and later Whitehouse Station, NJ where he held positions of increasing responsibility until his retirement in 1997 as Executive Director of World Wide Strategic Planning.

He was preceded in death by parents, Thomas and Gertrude Zilles Phillips; his brother, John T. Phillips; and his sister, Mary Sweeting. Surviving are his beloved wife of 26 years, Elizabeth "Beth" Williams Phillips and their daughter Tara Phillips; his former wife Julie Fuller and their son Scott Phillips and daughter Shana Phillips Bostock and three grandsons, Jeremy, Nolan, and Wyatt Bostock. He also raised his sister's children Thomas and Brian Mortenson and Dorothy Damato. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins in CA; his in-laws Bill, Doug and Paula Williams and their children, Garrett and Jennifer Williams.

Funeral services will begin with a prayer at 10:15 AM on Wednesday, December 21, 2011 followed by a Funeral Mass at 11 AM at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton, Three Bridges. Viewing hours are Tuesday, December 20, 2011 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Doug's memory to Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, 6931 Arlington Road, 2nd floor, Bethesda, MD 20814 or Acorn Glen, 775 Mount Lucas Road, Princeton, NJ 08540
