(1) Late News In Brief.
-Ex-Mayor Phillips, of Oglethorpe, Ga., was stabbed to death Monday night by a well-known farmer named Cullen Killebrew. The fence between the plantations owned by the two men caught fire, and the Killebrews went over to see Phillips about it. Cullen Killebrew drew a knife which he plunged three times into Phillips’ back, and the wounds went almost through the victim’s body.

(2) Prominent Man Killed.
SAVANNAH, Ga., Nov. 25.-Ex-mayor Phillips of Oglethorpe was stabbed in the back thrice by Cullen Killebrew, a farmer, and instantly killed in a quarrel over the burning of a fence.
The knife with which the wounds were inflicted was thirteen inches long, and passed almost through the body. Phillips was ex-mayor of Butler and was talked of as a congressional candidate.
