Funeral services for William Carl Phillips age 76, of Onalaska, Texas, will held Monday, January 3, 2011 at 11:00 AM at the chapel of Cochran Funeral Home in Onalaska.
The services will be officiated by his sons and grandsons. Interment will follow in the Forest Hill Cemetery in Livingston.
Pallbearers will be Buddy Gilreath, Johnny Phillips, Jr., Lisa Alsbrook, Kenny Courville, David Schumacher, and Jerrell Smith, Jr. Lifelong friend Jerrell Smith, Sr. will serve as honorary pallbearer.
Bill was born on January 12, 1934 in Sallisaw, Oklahoma to Edna Vennie Smith and Clifton Lloyd Phillips. He passed away at his home December 29, 2010.
Bill is preceded in death by his son Carl, his grandson Christopher, his son-in-law Carmen Gilreath, his parents and three sisters.
Bill was a most honorable man with family, God and his country, the most important part of his life.
He is survived by his wife, Nova Phillips of Onalaska, sons, Johnny Lloyd Phillips and wife Deborah of Suffolk, Virginia, Ronald Eugene Philips and wife Karen of Onalaska, daughter, Deborah Sue Gilreath of Skiatook, Oklahoma, brothers, Raymond Phillips and James Phillips, both of Onalaska, sisters, Verline Smith of Livingston, Doris Woodard and Virginia Carter, both of Muldrow, Oklahoma, six grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, one great-great grandchild and numerous other relatives and friends.
