Prala Phillips was born May 8, 1920, in San Augustine County, Texas to Ingram Phillips and Addie Hunt Phillips, and entered into rest on February 8, 2009, in San Augustine County, thus he attained the age of 88 years.

He served in the United States Army during W.W.II,he served as a machine gunner while in the Army and was a member of the VFW Post in Nacogdoches. He worked as a concrete finisher in construction, and was a member Harvey Creek Baptist Missionary Baptist Church in Broaddus.

Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, February 11, 2009, at 2:00 P.M. at Wyman Roberts Memorial Chapel in San Augustine, with interment following in the Macedonia Cemetery in San Augustine County, Texas.

Survivors include: Wife: Lena Phillips of Broaddus; Daughters: Audrey Wise, and Kathie and her husband Keary Waller of Broaddus; Son and Daughter-in-law: Maynard and his wife Jo Ann Phillips of Lufkin; Grandchildren: Monique Williams; Matthew Wise; Jeffrey Wise; Rhonda Wise; and Melody Wise and 9 great-grandchildren; Brother: Cecil Phillips of Michigan; numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by parents, Ingram and Addie Phillips; brothers, Earl, William, Charlie; Sisters: Myrtie Short, Myrtle Hight and Birdie Hight.
