PHILLIPS, William “Bill” Arthur, 84, passed away Sunday, August 30, 2009 in Tulsa, OK.

Born August 11, 1925 in Sperry, OK to Spencer Ollie and Gertrude E. (King) Phillips. Met his wife, Betty, on a blind date in 1939, and were married July 4, 1943 in Claremore, OK. Betty was one of the reason’s that Bill became a Christian and was a member of First Baptist Church-Tulsa. He became a real estate appraiser in 1957. He received the SRA Designation in 1962, President of Society of Real Estate Appraisers in 1964, member of Appraisal Institute, received MAI Designation in 1964, and was the 1971 President Oklahoma Chapter of MAI’s, in 1999 President of Green Country chapter of MAI’s. In 1972, he started his own company “The Phillips Company”. Member of the Rotary Club of Tulsa.

Preceded in death by his parents. Survived by his wife of 66 years, Betty of the home; daughter, Suzan Knight and husband, Steve of Edmond, OK; son, Chapman Phillips and wife, Jennifer of Tahlequah, OK; grandchildren, Amy, Matthew, Chris, Cathy, and Rachel; ten great-grandchildren ; brother, Spencer Ollie Phillips, Jr. of Brownsville, TX.

Service will be 10:00 A.M., Wednesday, September 2, 2009 at First Baptist Church-Tulsa. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Baptist Children’s Home.
