1884: Miss Mary Phillips, age 45, of AL., marries Mr. John Holmes, age 75 was created by Mamie

Mr. John Holmes and Miss Mary Phillips, of Barbour county, Alabama, married a few days ago. The groom is 75 years old, and his bride 45. He has been married twice, and by his first wife twenty-one children. He has thirty grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren living two miles from Blue Spring. His youngest child is twenty-one years of age.
