Wife Married Him for His Pay, Plea

Marking the termination of a war romance in which a wife was alleged to have admitted she married a soldier for the sole purpose of obtaining his allotment —which she did —Edward Arthur Phillips was granted a divorce by Judge Toiand today from Gladys Phillips. They were married April 25, 1918, while Phillips was stationed at Fort I.eavenworth and separated June 16 of the same year, according to the testimony.
