Phillips Family Has Reunion on Golden Anniversary.
Mr. and Mrs. J. A. Phillips last Friday celebrated their golden wedding anniversary at their home on Johnson street, having as their guests fifteen members of the family. One son, Charles, was in Arizona and unable to be present, and a grandson, Oliver Lindley of San Francisco, was unable to leave the city. Mrs, Flora Phillips, daughter-in-law of the aged couple and herself a grandmother, sent her greetings from Martinez.
A sumptuous dinner was served at noon, following which Mr. and Mrs. Phillips were presented with fifty dollars in gold, the gift of their children.
The guests were: Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Buehler and two sons, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Phillips and two children, and Mr. and Mrs. Fred Phillips, all of Oakland; Mr. and Mrs. George Phillips of Petaluma, and Mr. and Mrs. C. B. Crist and child of San Rafael.
The reunion was a happy event, some members of the family having been separated for more than fifteen years. J. A. Phillips and Miss Eugenia Tiberg were married in Fremont, Nebraska, July 31, 1875. Five years later they came to California, settling at Lakeport, where they resided until 1909. In the latter year they removed to Cloverdale, whence, in 1911, they came to Healdsburg.
