Atkinson - Phillips
Wednesday morning at the home of the bride's mother, Mrs. Emma Phillips, near Monticello, occurred the marriage of Miss Clara Phillips and Mr. Tom Atkinson, of Butts county.

It was a lovely home wedding and was witnessed by a large number of friends and relatives. The ceremony was performed at half past nine o'clock, Rev. J. E. Pounds, of Flovilla, officiating.

The wedding march was beautifully rendered by Mrs. Chappell Benton and the bridal party entered in the following order: Mrs. Oscar Phillips with Miss Alma Lloyd, Mr. John D. Persons with Miss Bessie Greer and Mr. Tom Slaughter, of Griffin, with Miss Katie Kelly, of Maxwell. The bride was accompanied by her maid of honor, Miss Marian Mercer, of Atlanta, and Mr. Asa Butrill, of Jackson, acted as best man.

Miss Phillips was becomingly attired in a handsome gown of grey Prunella cloth, with trimmings of white and gold applique. She is one of Jassper county's most popular daughters and has many friends to wish her all happiness.

Mr. Atkinson is the son of Rev. Atkinson and genuinely like by all who know him.

Immediately after the ceremony the bridal party left for the home of the groom near Jackson where an elegant reception was tendered them.

The presents received were numerous and handsome.
