Please note that the comments in parenthesis after the marriage record are speculative.
11 December 1789 Ruth Philips married Thomas Davis. (Ruth was probably the daughter of John and Ruth Beall Phillips of Richmond Co GA. Ruth was mentioned in the will of John Phillips dated 28 March 1777 and proved in Richmond County August 16, 1777. According to his will, John also had three sons – George, Hillery and Jeremiah. Some say that John was the son of William Phillips of Anson Co NC, but I doubt that this is true. A John Phillips bought 200 acres of ceded Indian lands in northeastern GA by 1773. A John Phillips Sr. and a John Phillips Jr. appear on Wilkes Co GA militia rolls during the Revolution. A John Phillips died in Wilkes Co GA in 1781. I suspect that the one who died in Wilkes Co was the son of William Phillips of Anson Co NC, not the one who died in Richmond Co GA in 1777. Ruth Beall was the putative daughter of Thomas Beall and Tabitha Hilleary of Calvert County, MD. She was married first to Michael Jones, second to John Phillips.)
30 October 1792 Polly Philips married Littleberry Bostick. (Polly, which is a nickname for Mary, was undoubtedly the daughter of John and Ruth Beall Phillips. Mary is mentioned in the will of John Phillips dated 28 March 1777. L. Berry Bostick served as security when Hezekiah Beall obtained Letters of Administration to settle the estate of John Phillips in 1784.)
8 September 1818 Permelia/Pamelia Phillips/Philips married John McCarthy.
