Please note that the comments contained in parenthesis after the marriage record are speculative.
24 March 1793 Sarah Phelps married Henry Peek. (I suspect that Sarah was the sister of James Phillips who married Nancy Hill in 1796. Some sources give her name as Sarah Jemima Elizabeth. Henry Peek was supposedly born in Loudon County, VA. Putative issue: John, William, Leonard, Nancy, Elizabeth, Henry, Thomas Jefferson, Mary Ann. Note that a Jenney Phelps who married Parmenas Haynes in Oglethorpe County, GA in 1807 was the putative daughter of John and Jemima Turner Phelps of Bedford County, VA.)
27 July 1796 James Phillips married Nancy Hill. (Some sources say James was the son of Zachariah Phillips and his first wife Mary White, but I doubt that this is true, because James appears on Columbia Co GA tax lists from 1790 to 1793. Zachariah moved from Wilkes Co to Washington/Greene Co by 1786 and he never lived in Columbia Co. James and Nancy Hill Phillips supposedly moved to Hancock County, GA. James, David, Samuel and Thomas Felps appear on Hancock Co tax lists from 1794 to 1796.)
3 February 1798 Ichabod Phillips married Sophia Lord. (Some sources say Ichabod was the son of Zachariah Phillips and his first wife Mary White, but the DNA of a descendant of Ichabod does not match the DNA of several descendants of Zachariah. The descendant of Ichabod belongs to Group 14 and the descendants of Zachariah belong to Group 8. Also Ichabod does not appear to have named a son Zachariah or a daughter Mary. Also, Zachariah Phillips moved from Wilkes County to Washington/Greene County by 1786, and Ichabod would have most likely moved with him, since he was not yet married. Ichabod was born between 1760-1770, according to the 1840 Columbia County census. Ichabod purchased land in Columbia Co in 1793 and died in Columbia County in 1843. Sophia Phillips appears on the Columbia Co census in 1860 as an 80 year old woman born in GA. Putative issue: Wilder (b. ca 1798?), Isham (b. ca. 1798?), William (b. 1802?), Micajah (b. 1808?), Vashti (b. ca 1810?), Margaret (b. 16 March 1816), Absalom (b. 1816?), Matthew (b. 1817?), Joseph, Benjamin, Ellis (b. 1823?), Clarissa. Note that there was a Wilda Phillips on the tax rolls of Columbia Co in 1793 along with Ichabod Phillips, and this could not be Wilder, the son of Ichabod. He was probably Ichabod’s brother or father. There is a Wilder Phillips age 81, b. ca. 1769 in NC, on the Harris County GA census in 1850. Ichabod Phillips m. Mary Wortham 1832 in Marion County, GA. Ichabod (?) Phillips was on the Macon Co AL census in 1850; age 43, born in GA, wife Mary, age 34, born in GA.)
7 October 1813 Elizabeth Philips married Tarvin Churchwell. (Some sources say that Elizabeth was the daughter of Zachariah Phillips and Mary White or Rachel Wall, but I doubt this because Zachariah lived in Washington/Greene County, not Columbia County. Marriages usually took place in the county where the bride lived.)
7 October 1816 Nancy/Nancey Philips married Amen Newsome. (Note that John and Isaac Newson witnessed the will of William Phillips of Putnam County in 1815.)
23 December 1817 Wiley Phillips/Philips married Viney/Veney Reeves. (Is this the same Wiley Phillips who married Sally Lane in Jasper County 3 April 1816? If Wiley is a nickname for Wilder, Wiley may be the son of Ichabod and Sophia Phillips; however, he would have been younger than 21 in 1816 and 1817 if he was born after Ichabod and Sophia married in 1798, unless Ichabod had a previous wife.)
4 August 1819 Sally Phillips/Philips married John Parish. (Some people on the internet think that Sally was the daughter of Ichabod and Sophia Lord Phillips. Ichabod mentioned his daughter Sally Paris in his will.)
21 December 1819 Isham Phillips married Polly Youngblood. (There is also a record that says this marriage took place in Effington County. Isham was the putative son of Ichabod Phillips, but Ichabod did not marry until 1798, so if Isham was his oldest son, he would have been barely 21 in 1819, unless Ichabod had a previous wife.)
