Comments in parenthesis after the marriage records are speculative.

1 December 1795 Betsey Phillips married Joseph Price. (Betsey Phillips may have been the daughter of Thomas Phillips from NC, who was the putative son of Reuben and Catherine Howard Phillips of MD and NC. This is Phillips Family DNA Group 2. Thomas was supposedly born circa 1745 in Cecil Co, MD and his wife was Elizabeth (Murry?). Thomas Phillips moved from Oglethorpe Co and was living in the Mulberry Fork area of Jackson Co by 1803. Benjamin Phelps and Samuel, Thomas, Joseph and Reuben Phillips were all in Jackson Co by 1805. In 1827, Thomas Phillips of Jackson Co, a Revolutionary War veteran, drew Muscogee County land granted June 21, 1828. Thomas died in 1834, leaving a will in which he named his wife Elizabeth and five sons: Adam, John, Henry, Thomas and Levi. No daughters were mentioned in his will.)

Samuel Bellah/Bellough was the brother of Elizabeth Bellough who married Thomas Phillips Jr. in 1800.)

9 December 1799 George Phillips married Jemima Pope. (The parents of Jemima were Lewis and Jemima Pope. A Barron researcher says this is the same person as Dr George Phillips who married Polly Martin in 1812. He lists the following children for George and Jemima:

7 August 1800 Thomas Phillips married Elizabeth Bellough. (Thomas was the son of Thomas Phillips of NC, who was the putative son of Reuben and Catherine Howard Phillips of MD and NC. Thomas is mentioned in the will of his father, Thomas Phillips which was probated in Jackson Co in 1834. Elizabeth Bellough/Bellah was the sister of Samuel Bellah/Bellough.)

8 November 1800 Hannah Phillips married Alfred Steward. (Hannah may have been the daughter of Levi Phillips from NC, who was the putative son of Reuben and Catherine Howard Phillips of MD and NC. Alfred and Hannah named a son Levi Alfred. They moved to Clarke Co around 1807, where Alfred and Moses Bellah bought some land together. Moses was the brother of Samuel and Elizabeth Bellah/Bellough.)

17 August 1803 Rachel Phillips married James Maxwell.

14 July 1804 Betsy Phillips married Ezekiel Polk. (Betsy may have been the daughter of Levi and Barbara Hough Phillips. Levi mentioned his daughter Elizabeth Polk in his will dated 2 Oct 1846 recorded in Oconee Co SC. Betsey was supposedly born at Polk’s Mill, which is now in Madison County, GA. There were two Levi Phillips living in Oglethorpe Co Georgia in 1800.)

The Martins moved to Oglethorpe Co around 1808 and to Elbert Co by 1813. Dr. George and Polly Phillips removed to Dallas Co, AL by 1823, where he died.
