CLEBURNE.
Miss Emma Phillips, of Boston, a sister of Mrs. C.W. Mertz, of this place, was married at the residence of Prof. Phillips, in Kansas City, Mo., last Wednesday evening, to Rev. B.F. Baller, the pastor of the Congregational Church of Sedalia, Mo. Kansas City newspapers describe the wedding as one of unusual brilliancy. Miss Phillips has been a leader in Cleburne society. Her extraordinary beauty, coupled with a mind of unusual brightness, and supplemented by many accomplishments, made admiration a matter of course. Her numerous friends here congratulate the gentleman whose good fortune it has been to secure such a treasure, and heartily extend their good wishes for the future of the happy couple. Mrs. Mertz, accompanied by her daughter, Miss Ruby, went to Kansas City several days ago to be present at the marriage ceremony.
