It was reported at Matamoros, on the 2nd inst. that a train of sixty-five or seventy wagons had been captured by the rancheros under Canales, on the road between Comargo and Monterey. We, however, do not credit this report; for the advices we have received from Montclova by the upper route are later than had been received at Matamoros on the 2d, and they do not confirm the report. Trains of several hundred wagons had been collected at Matamoros, to accompany the troops that were about to march to Tampico.
Subjoined is the list of deaths in the general hospital at Matamoros since the 15th ultimo, as furnished by Dr. Dwight, surgeon, United States’ army:
James Murphy, 21 artillery, company K; W. McGill, 2d dragoons, company B; J. Swink, Kentucky cavalry; J.
